Twenty One

"Following the heat dome of June 2021, the remainder of the summer continued with intense heat and growing degree days well above the average. September cooled slightly and our three blocks of Cabernet achieved full ripeness underscored with vibrant acidity. Appropriate to lower yield and smaller berries, the quality and flavour of all three blocks was exceptional.

As in all vintages of our Lariana proprietary blend, our Cabernet continues to dominate. After barrel tastings of all our Cabernet and Carmenere barrels as well as all our Syrah from Red Brick vineyard, the blend was combined beginning of January 2023 to be bottled June 14th of the same year.

In the glass a deep well of black fruit aromas, balanced with savoury elements from the Syrah. The palate continues with bright, bold, and stoic structure supported by lively lip-smacking tannins. Decanting prolongs the pleasure of this luxurious wine when paired with a braised shoulder of lamb this fall.

The wine will continue to age for at least another decade."
